What past workshop participants say the biggest benefit they got out of the workshop was:

"Actually taking photos and cherishing each memory with my child! (okay that's cheesy but the truth) Love the photo-a-day project. Also my pictures are much better with all the tips from your webinars!" - Avanee Patel

"The subtleties that you shared from your own parenting/photography experiences. I got the big messages, but it was the small insights that really helped me understand my own photography and appreciate the things that I do well... and not trying to perfect everything." - Elizabeth Katz

"Should I confess I had 5 years' worth of pictures disorganized on various computers ? Now, they are all organized, by years, on one single editing software, and the best ones are ready to be printed." - spring participant

"Realizing how important it is to take pictures on regular basis. It seems to be a trivial observation but it is not that easy. I am really grateful for your passion not just for photography but for capturing life's moments on film and inspiring me to do the same." - Baha Rudin

"Reignited my love of photography - I now feel like I can capture moments, know how to store, reproduce and share. Have really got a lot of joy out of this class." - Andrea Rivzi

"INSPIRATION... after every live webinar, I felt motivated to action (sometimes I didn't get it finished but I was still inspired to start!) I have been meaning to do so many of these projects but was overwhelmed at the grandness of it. By walking us through each of these projects, it made it fun and much less daunting and now 12 weeks later, I'm really doing it!" - Kelley Vollmer-Bruso

Who the photosanity workshop is for

The workshop is specifically designed for moms and dads with babies, toddlers or elementary school age children who love taking photos of their kids but are frustrated and overwhelmed with the results. It's also suitable for expectant parents (now is a great time to get ready to photograph your new little one!), grandparents, aunts, uncles, or anyone who enjoys and spends a lot of time photographing the children in their lives.

What you will need to participate

You will need an internet connection and an e-mail account. You will also need a camera! Most people have a smartphone camera (eg iphone, blackberry or droid) and either a point-and-shoot or a DSLR but just one camera will be fine. You will also need a Facebook account to participate in the private Facebook group (this is not required but definitely recommended).

The workshop is geared towards photographing children so you will need at least one child (yours or someone else's!) to photograph for assignments. If you are expecting, you can practice on your spouse, pet, or, if you can, someone else's baby.

How the workshop will work

As soon as your workshop reigstration is confirmed, you will receive a link to a worksheet to fill out to help you assess where you stand with your photography, what your biggest areas of frustration are, and what your top three goals for the workshop are. I will review each worksheet to make sure the workshop meets your needs and that you are getting the guidance you need!

You will also have instant access to a private Facebook group where you can start interacting with me as well as with other participants. I’ll be posting questions and tips to get everyone warmed up and ready for the official start of the workshop!

The weekly webinars are either hosted live or released via e-mail and a password protected member's lounge on Tuesdays at 9pm Eastern Time. For live webinars, you will receive a link via e-mail that you can click on to join in. You can use the speakers and mic built into your computer or headset, or you can call in by phone for the audio portion of the presentation. This is not a video presentation (I will not be on camera!) but there will be a powerpoint type presentation that I will be talking through and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

If you can't attend a live webinar, don't worry - webinars will be recorded and available for review at any time and lesson notes will also be written up and distributed via e-mail the next day in pdf format.

The webinar and e-mail lessons will cover the basics of shooting, organizing, editing and sharing your photos – you’ll get tips and tricks that you can try right away, even if you only have a few minutes here and there to spend on it. Each lesson also includes a 10 minute assignment to help you try what you just learned. You will also participate in a photo-a-day project AND design your own portrait wall gallery for your home!

Community, support and interaction is key for motivation so participants are urged to be active on the private Facebook group where you can post and view photos, ask questions and receive feedback and encouragement from me as well as other participants.

Workshop participants will also have access to free and discounted opportunities for further interaction tailored to their needs, for example, online chats, phone mentoring, meetups and private instruction.

Note: You may sign up for the workshop after its start date as webinars are recorded and can be accessed later, but you will need to catch up if you wish to follow along live.
